More new stuff, and we loped, and loped and loped....

On Tuesday I finally got to ride again!  We ended up outside and at first I was completely sure that I wasn't going to ride Chilly.  She was having a ball, running and bucking on the lungline and I was convinced that the safest place to be that day was on the ground.

However after about 20 minutes of babyish behavior she settled down.  I took some time to walk her over the outside trail course (about 5 different obstacles set up with painted poles as well as the trail bridge) which she handled like she'd seen painted poles all her life.  You know how some horses have an issue with different colors, and how a plain white pole in the indoor looks nothing like the striped colorful poles in the outdoor. No big deal.  So I figured what the heck, Lucy was an idiot the first 10 times she was in the outdoor and I still rode her, Chilly had 20 minutes of fun after having almost 2 weeks off.... 

So I got on, I have to apologize I half thought this baby stuff would be entertaining for you, my readers, but I'm afraid to say this turns out like all my other Chilly stories.  I got on her and she was excellent.  Walked and jogged all around the trail stuff and the outdoor like a big horse.  (It did help that there were 3 other adult horses in the ring who we've ridden with several times, and I lent her turnout buddy Oscar to a friend so he was even out there too)  We even walked over 5 poles in a row, her first time walking over poles with someone on her back.  After about 10 minutes I was good.  I conquered the fear bird, but it was IV week so I was drained.

D got on her for a bit and worked her a little harder than I did, and even jogged over some of the single poles lying around. 

I got my IV on Thursday which killed my Thursday plans, no matter how hard I try I just can't do more than eat supper then watch TV until I fall asleep on the couch.

Friday we lunged and did showmanship (shes really doing well with it) then today we had another lesson with D.  Some days I wish he would push me harder although while the lesson is going on I don't want to be pushed at all!

We did a bunch of jogging and walking on the rail while the other girls loped, then D used the trick we all use on little kids that arn't sure about loping, the game of 'catch up'.  Every time you are the leader you have to lope all the way around until you catch up with the group of horses again where you become the last horse in the line.  And it worked.  We did almost run into a horse once, and we never loped more than 1/2 of the ring (mostly because it took 1/2 a trip around at a fast trot to pick up a lope) but we did it several times. 

Once we changed direction, D had me jogging a small circle at either end (the other girls stayed in the center) and as we left the center of our circle, going back to the short end of the arena to extend to a trot on my urging, then once she was trotting to push her to lope off down the long side.  We had some better transitions this way, when I asked for the long trot we stayed together more than when she just trotted off on her own, and she could really see that the lope cue was not just a 'faster' cue but something different.  This meant that we were only really loping a long side before coming back to a jog, but it also helped both of us relax into the jog, we knew we had to long trot before we loped and that was very different from the slow jog circles.

All in all a good couple of days with the girl.  Only two weeks until our first big show, stay tuned.

Farm Sitting...

While fun, it does remind me why I like having someone else care for my horse full time and why I now have an office job. 

With my cold last week, and with C&D being gone from Friday until late tonight I didn't even get to ride once this week.  Now I'm sore from doing chores so I most likely wont get to ride tomorrow.

And to top off this weekend, a lovely woman that I worked with for several years died.  She had been sick on and off for several years but its still not something that we expected. 

Hopefully we're back on track on Tuesday, I did get my show saddle shined up Ill post some before and after photos below:

Thoughts from last night

Everyone is fine, thank god.  The neighbors of C & D lost their barn, garage and have some damage to their home.  No one was hurt which is the big thing (although my dad did go to the chiropractor today, along with several other fire fighters!)

It has defiantly made me think though. I don't own any horses and I don't have legal responsibility for either Chilly or Oscar (both are covered under their owners property insurance as an add on).  However I do have almost three thousand in tack, between the barn and my home.  It is not what I would morn or cry over, but I have a lot invested in it and I really should think about insuring it.

Has anyone done this outside of a home owners policy?  (Bonus points if your carrier will cover Canada)  Anyone have any experience trying to put a claim though?

First lesson of 2014

And oh boy it was a work out.  D is funny, you think he isn't watching you when you ride on your own but then you go in for a lesson and 15 minutes in, he's found each and every hole in your training that you've glossed over for the past 3 months! 

So he has me lifting and pushing Oscars shoulders around, working on loping transitions (jog a sharp turn lope, jog a sharp turn, lope all around the arena off the rail).  All with a loose rein, only picking up to turn, which is hard for me, I like contact!  We were loping circles at one point and D goes "loose rein"  And I go "I know its just so hard to let go!"  he just about fell off the mounting block laughing at me.  Anyways it was good to get back in the swing of things and Oscar wasn't nearly as grumpy after our lesson as he was when I ride him alone, even though he was sweaty.  I think I'm picking on him too much, and the constant reminders from D to "let go" prove that.

Chilly is going really great, I'm hoping to watch D ride her tomorrow.  Hes been riding her at the walk/jog a bit at the end of each ride with the bit in her mouth, but doing the warm up/canter work with a side pull.  She's doing much better and is apparently really coming along.

In the foot news, I've taken to putting my orthotics in everything but my riding boots (normally they live in my sneakers that I wear for work/driving).  I've also dug out some big old spurs, not so much for more spur but because they are kicked in and bend toward the horse which means I don't need to move my foot/ankle very much to use it.  With those two modifications my foot was much better today when I came home from the barn. (Although my hips and legs are sore from riding).

I also go for my CAT scan on Monday, not the 3 months that I thought it would take to get an appointment!  And I go back to the surgeon the next Wednesday after that!

I've been hibernating!

Its PLUS 7 right now!  Outside!  I can see the dirt of my driveway!

For the past month we've been dealing with -25 to -40 temps, when in a normal winter we might have 4-6 days of these temps.  Finally today the weather broke and we had a nice day with some serious rain. 

It was so nice today at the barn.  One of the littler kids was out for her lesson, one of the show kids trailerd her horse out and rode with me and Oscar, we had people out to see the studs and talk about breeding, and all of the buckets were unfrozen! 

It was so nice to be back on Oscar, and a broke horse again!  I could work at all three gaits, and and work on my position a bit without worrying about him too much.  I even managed to lope him all around the arena.  All and all a good day.

C & D and I had a bit of a talk about Chilly.  I told them that I thought that someone younger and fitter should ride her for a bit that could push her a bit more and stay out of her way more effectively.  They kind of agreed.  D is going to take over riding her for a while (and will be riding her more as it gets back into our 'normal' temps).  Were also going to throw on some of the kids to flop around on her as well to get her used to different riders.  We've found that she gets very attached to 'her' people and while that isn't a bad thing, she needs to listen and obey everyone that rides her.

I was a bit down in the dumps about it.  I know its the right thing for both of us.  She needs someone fitter and more agile and I can't afford to get hurt.  However C was very happy to tell the people that were there looking at the studs about how I was going to show Chilly and how they were looking foreword to it.  That made me feel a bit better, I hope we can met their expectations!

I'm not dead I promise!

C and D left last Sunday for a week long horse show, and I've been doing most of the chores for the 13 horses left at the barn.  I do have someone doing the AM feeding and turnout but it still leaves me 8 stalls, and 4 horses to rotate though the smaller turnouts (Both studs and the babies (2) can't be left outside).  Its been taking 2 hours exactly to do chores but it means that I leave my house at 6:30 get home for 10 minutes at 5, then gone to the barn until 7:45. 

Since they've been gone, Chevy took the gate to the indoor off its hinges (thankfully I was only steps away when he did this and I was able to catch him before he got anywhere).  I didn't realize it at the time but he was itching on the gate because he was in the beginnings of an allergy outbreak.  By the time I got back to the barn 24 hours later he was an absolute mess, covered in hives.  (Don't get me started on why it wasn't noticed by the AM person...).  So he's on drugs, finally tonight he was *almost* back to normal.

One of the broodmares is getting picked on by the other mare she is out with but I can't separate them because then they cry for each other.  And with no one in the barn full time I don't dare try another turn out buddies.  It wasn't too bad (occasional bite mark) but then the smaller mare got kicked on Wednesday (upper shoulder) and had a huge swelling and hole (other mares feet are a mess, can't get a farrier near her and she will only let C and D work on her feet for 5 minutes at a time).  Thankfully the cut was clean, I got it flushed out and doctored and today it's looking a lot better.  Shes been sound on it the entire time thankfully. 

Oh and then the Jack Russels....one is 12 the other is 7, the younger dog body checked the older dog (by accident!)  and I thought she killed the old dog!  Poor little S cried and cried, but when I found her a hot dog she cheered up enough to come running up the steps for it.  Those dog's make me happy, they listen so well to me, and god knows if a Jack doesn't want to listen nothing can make them!  But they've been very obedient for me all week.

Hopefully I'll get to ride this weekend and we'll be back on track for the show next weekend.  Lucy actually came to the gate tonight when I was there, I think she's looking for my brushes ;)   (Lucy lives outside most of the time, so shes' been having an extended vacation)

This was supose to be a happy post...

I had this written out, and then D messaged me on facebook....

First foal of 2013.  And he made it by 3 days!  This is the foal out of Tanker (Lucas' love pony) and by Chevy.  Hes an average height colt, which is good and bad.  Good because Tanker is short and that is one of the things the owner wanted to improve on, and bad because it meant that he had a bit of a hard time learning how to get his head in the right spot to nurse.  And thanks to Tankers feeding program over the past couple of months he came out with a body looking more like a week old colt than a just born baby.

Hes a dark bay with white on all four legs, a star and a long snip.  So cute! 




I had gone to facebook to grab a photo of the baby to post, and realized that I had a private message from D and C. 

They lost the foal this afternoon.

He was up, he was healthy, passing poop and pee, and eating last night when I saw him.  Tankers poor owner is only 13, the poor kid was so happy last night with the baby. 

This horse thing isn't for the faint of heart.

First post of 2013

And I didn't ride!  D and C's grandson was here so I helped babysit while we continued to clean up from the storm on Sunday (between 30-40 cm of snow!) and did chores for all the horses.  It was a good productive day that made me happy to come home and warm up this afternoon. 

So although not much progress was made in my riding goal, I kept up with my fitness goals so it was a good trade off!

I've also decided to stop one of the pain killers that I've been taking at night for about 2 years now.  We started it when I was having trouble sleeping on the Orencia and I thought that I would try stopping it over the holidays to see how I would feel.  Although I did notice the lack of it the first night I haven't noticed a difference since so another pill that I won't have to take any more!

Cancer sucks, worst Monday in history.

2 people in 3 days.

On Saturday it was the kid (well he was 18) that lived across the road. He has been battling cancer since he was a kid.  No one thought he would survive the first, or second time he had brain cancer but he did.  Last year they found out it was back, and there was nothing left to do.

In the process of his short life he and his mom raised money for brain cancer research and spread awareness across the country.  The good die young.

Today my other 'adult' rider at the barn that I show with lost her mom to colon cancer.  She had only been diagnosed this spring.  On thanksgiving weekend my friend told me that they were giving her 2 months to live.  She died 2 weeks later.  

She was the barn "Mom" and was always around with words of encouragement.  She will be missed.

And yet there is more...

I knew that my former student 'paint kid', E, who now rides with D and C had been having some weird issues at school but today when I mentioned something to my dad he finally told me how bad it is... She is randomly loosing vision, walking into walls and can no longer control her muscles enough to dress herself.  So if anyone has some prayers, or happy thoughts to send to E I would appreciate it.  She goes in for more tests tomorrow and we're hoping to now more by the end of the week.

I have back developments but its nothing compared to everything else today.

Sooner rather than later

Well its starting to look like Lucas will be on his way on Friday.  "I" and her parents have gotten in touch and have arranged the down payment and set out a payment plan for him for the next couple of months.  However the down payment will be made on Thursday, not the end of the month like we thought.  Which means that Lucas is leaving on Friday for the show that C and D are going to and will be picked up by "I" and her coach at the show.

Its kind of good, the remainder of his board money will pay off D and C's part (contracts, adds ect) and I wont be out of pocket for his shoeing in two weeks.  It does mean that I have less time to say good by, as I have my IV on Thursday night and they will be leaving on Friday while I will be working.

The happy / sad issue remains.  Happy he's going to someone who will appreciate him, and use him, sad that he's going, and with it a huge part of my life over the past couple of years.

C suggested today that I used the week I booked off in August and go to the USA with her to a couple of Appaloosa shows.  Its something that now that Lucas is off my 'books' I can afford to do.  I had half planed to go to a horse show locally (I had booked the time off before I stopped riding) but this would give me a chance to have my first real vacation since Congress in 2008.  So we'll see if I can get the time off work, and go from there.

Update

So it's been a while but I have some updates. I saw my Rheumatologist on Tuesday and got some bad news, I knew it was coming, but it still wasn't great to hear it.  The drugs aren't working.  My hip pain isn't just the muscles, its the muscles complaining because the hip joint is getting worse.  I knew it was bad but I guess I was trying to blame it on the muscles.  I got sent down for x-rays and got twisted and pulled in all sorts of directions while they tried to get some good shots.  By the time we were done that I was hurting, I couldn't deny it at that point.  The stuff they were doing shouldn't have hurt me if it was just general muscle pain.

However the new drug cannot be given at home, it has to be given in a clinic with several nurses and a Doctor in attendance.  I'll be going back to the same clinic that I was at before with the Remicade, but its just so had to coordinate work and doing the IV's.  Especially if I wont be able to drive after the first couple of times (they load you up on gravel, and the drugs don't make you feel great) AND I have to get it done during work hours, AND I'll miss the next day of work, AND my parents will have to drive into the city the first couple of times to come and pick me up.

My best friend is wonderful and offered to have me stay at her place after words, but the first couple of times until I know what its going to do to me I would rather be home in my own bed when its over.  So that should be starting just at the first of July.  I have a meeting at work next week with my bosses to duscuss time off, and hopefully giving me access to the work files from home so I can do a bit of work even if I have to take several naps during the day.

This weekend I stayed at D and C's and barn/dog/cat sat for the weekend.  All of the critters were great, and it was SO nice to go out to the barn in the morning and feed breakfast in my PJ's!  Both Lucas and Chilly got worked a little bit, we got a delivery of steel for the new run-ins, and I had a nap with a cat cuddled up to me.  My allergy's were so bad it was awful, but it was nice to snuggle with animals for a whole weekend.

I added some pictures, I said I would take more this weekend and I even tried to get one of Chilly but she's still kind of scruffy so it will wait until she gets a hair cut!

Chilly times 2

Got out to the barn last night and got Chilly lunged and Lucas got some play time in the indoor (he had just gotten his feet done).  I'm on my own in the barn on the weekend so he'll get lots of work this weekend to make up for it!  Breeding season seems to be finally over (thank goodness!) so I'm going to try and get the stud worked a bit this weekend as well.

Lucas was good as usual, and Chilly was very good and seemed to have remember everything that we did on Sunday.  She only screamed once when we walked into the ring, and nothing after that.  So her buddy issue might not be that bad after all.  She got her feet done yesterday standing in the crossties like a big girl and got tied for the first time since her 'vacation'.  C and D teach them the basics after they are weaned, refresh in the fall of there weanling year then they get to be horses for most of the winter.  Once shes lunging well in another month she'll get some time off unless they take her to a show in August, then she'll be off again until mid November.  She's as big as Max was when he left and has excellent conformation.  It would be good if they could get her to a fun show or two to let people see her,

Work vs Barn

Seriously I really wish some days I didn't have to go to work in an office building during weeks like this.  No bugs, lots of sun but a cool breeze so you don't get too hot.  I'm even looking foreword to doing the chores on the weekend.  And I know the minute it hits 28+ degrees I will be very happy for my air conditioning at work but a girl can dream right?

So everyone is off to the big tri-breed (Apps, paints and a couple of AQHA classes) show this weekend.  Lucas and I are staying home and looking after the farm.  All the show horses except Lucas and Roxy (the little kids palomino that I showed a couple of years ago) are going so I will only have those 2, the halter mare and her baby, the Radical Hour stud (who's getting some serious work done because he needs some exercise to get his mind off breeding and back to work) and Chilly.  I'll have 10 horses outside but they just need water top ups and keeping an eye on them for mishaps.  Not so bad at all and I should have time to get some horses lunged too.

I did get Chilly out on the weekend and she was very good.  She's still very insecure about being without another horse in the ring, but we are trying to get her to buddy up with humans instead of another horse this time.  (We recently sold her turnout buddy and she has been upset about it, Lucas helps, but hes not the buddy that she is missing).  Shes quite tall already, taller than Max was when he left, but she's still only just a yearling.  C and D hope to take her to a show later this summer to get her out and around so she can get used to the activity as a baby.

I have a lead on a possible horse to lease next winter.  One of the kids is leaving to go to school in Newfoundland and her parents are letting her keep her horse.  She's offered him to me to ride before but I don't like riding other peoples horses when they aren't there... Hes a semi-retired WP horse that didn't quite make it in the big show ring.  I'll be trying him out later on this summer to see if it would be a good match, and it would help her parents out with some of the horse bills while she's off at university.

I'm off to the Rheumatologist tomorrow AM cross your fingers that she has good news and doesn't want me to start on another different biological.  I just need more energy, oh and for my back and hips to like riding again...

Good / Bad saturday.

Good: fit into jeans that didn't fit last summer

Bad: It was 25 Degrees C for my lesson and I'm still pealing from last weekend

Good: I got Lucas summer sheets and turnouts soaked and washed and hung out to dry.

Bad: Did I mention that my face, neck and hands are pealing from the burn I got last weekend?  Itchy!!

Good: Lesson day

Bad: I didn't make it though the lesson on Lucas.

I did some trot work, jog work and weaving in and around the trail equipment he got stuck but I got him out of it.  He's really hard to keep going lately, in the last two lesson so I think its time to re-introduce the spurs after a bit.  So the trot was ok and then we started working on the canter.  Our good direction was good but our bad direction wasn't so good.  I can only get the correct lead about 50% of the time going left so we were working on that and I just ran out of gas.  I couldn't keep my legs on him enough to keep him going, plus work my hands, plus dealing with Lucas attitude AND listen to what D was telling me.  I got a good canter the other direction and then because D was stumped about why we couldn't get him to go on the left lead (consistently) I asked him to get on.

D got on and had some issues with 'foreword' he was so lazy by that point and just didn't want to put the effort into trotting and cantering. But he got him going and after a bit had him picking up his left lead consistently.  D is a talented rider and a good coach but he has a hole in his teaching ability to be able to tell you what to do with your body to get the results.  Yes Lucas should pick up the correct lead all of the time, and the fact that everyone but me doesn't have issues says that its an issue in how I am riding but I cant figure it out on my own and D cant see it from the ground....

So by this point Lucas was wet and sticky, and I knew that we needed to rinse him off so it was a bit of a good thing that he was tired and sticky because he walked right into the wash bay and let me spray him all over with the hose and get him cleaned up and cooled down.  I didn't tie him, but I was happy with how he walked into the wash bay and stood quietly for me, so I guess we ended up with a good day after all.

We survived and Lucas got passed by a pleasure horse!

Well I was still a little tired this morning when I went to the barn but decided to ride anyways. I was absolutely fantastic out at about 14 degrees, and the sun was shining.

Lucas was a dink to start out with he didn't want to do anything so I had to put the feet to him (still not wearing spurs) but we rode with 2 other horses and he was really good with passing them and then having them pass him. D thinks that I might be keeping my upper body to far back when I ask him to move foreword and its sending a mixed message to him and Im stopping his movement with my hips.

We did some jog/trot circles that we made smaller and smaller until we stopped did a turn on the haunch and at first totted off of. Once we had all done that a couple of times we worked on cantering out of the haunch turn. We started off with Lucas bad way and I was worried but D talked me though it, hes great at letting me figure it out but right at the point where I run out of options in my head he steps in with just the right information.

We ended up getting the right lead about 1/2 of the time but we did have a couple of times where I managed to get him 'right' and I felt that it was right, before I got to ask for the lead, and he got the correct one. Its the fact that my left lower side of the body is so much stronger than my right I find it hard to keep the bend correct though his body for the lead to be right. Our good direction was good but he fought a bit with his head when we first got going. Just out of practice I think, he got better as we went on but we were both very tired when we were done. However we did get passed by the pleasure bred horse in the ring and managed to not pass anyone. But I was having to kick him almost every stride to keep him going! I need to find a happy medium between having to keep spurs off for the first part of the ride then adding back part way into the ring. I might ride tomorrow if my back stays good.

Lucas got a quick bath to finish off with, and the people spent some time out in the sun to relax. The grass is slowly starting to grow again so Lucas can start his 'gardening' program hopefully soon again. I love taking him for walks so he can enjoy the grass. :)

To the barn or to the USA for the weekend

Its March break for the kids next week here, which means my Mom and Dad are off for a week in the sun down south. I'm only slightly worried about what might go wrong, but it takes a lot of energy to run a house on your own for a week. So I stayed home from the barn tonight and caught up on chores in town that I might not want to do next week.

C & D might be going to the us to visit the stud horse that they have in training/promotion but it all depends on the 4 mares they are trying to breed to the other stud! And my friend is going to the US for the day on Saturday and I got invited to go with her but that will only happen if I dont go to the barn. Good thing is that because it is March break the barn will be full of kids that dont mind helping me with some chores.

Sick again...

The mild cold I had on the weekend has blown into something nasty. I'm on two puffers and an antibiotic so cross your fingers that it will work. Lucas is on his own this week, so I'm glad that I did ride on Sunday. I guess this is why I'm riding in January so that I can have weeks like this :(

Had massage therapy on Monday and my back/pelvis is a mess. My muscles and tendons are basically pulling my pelvis and hips out of position so lots of work to do on keeping myself balanced.

D's Mom died on Monday, funeral tomorrow

And spring training begins.

I am no longer the only boarder riding on a regular basis! Although some of the kids have kept up with lessons on the weekends, I'm usually on my own during the weeknights. However Tankers owner was at the barn on Thursday night for the first time since Christmas. (Shes been spending more time on her family's beef farm but now that calving season is over she'll be at the barn more)

So we tacked up and rode together. Tanker was great, for having a couple of months off she went right back into work. Lucas not so much! He was quite upset that he had to share the arena, and that Tanker was in 'his' space! Considering that they can't bear to be separated when they are outside it was funny behavior. So after we got a couple of trips around at the walk, we had Tanker and her owner ride around us in tight circles, and pass us a couple of times in each direction until Lucas realized that it really wasn't that bad.

After that we had a decent ride, both of us had a break longer than expected with my flu, but he had some great trot work and we did some serious work on getting some control over his back end with some hip in/out work and even did some shoulders in as well. D told us to start working in some turns on the forehand to keep him from 'locking' up like he tends to do when something becomes hard.

My friends horse came in on Friday, and the girl that did some riding on Lucas last summer brought her horse back today, so the barn is filling up!

Our halter mare had her Appaloosa baby on Thursday! She a very well developed filly who is very happy and healthy and loves people, her only downfall is that she didn't get much color. I hope to get some pictures soon to share!

The flu

So you know how sick you feel most of the time when the only way you can figure out that you are actually 'sick' is when you cant leave the bathroom long enough to go to work... It started Sunday night and although I went to work on Tuesday, I should have stayed home, lets just say trying to find a place to throw up at work and not gross everyone else out is not fun.

So I'm home again today, Lucas is having fun with his mini-break. C and D finished putting on the kick boards in the arena yesterday so the arena is now back to being an arena instead of a construction site. The boarders tack room is on the schedule to be done over the next couple of days so it should look different by the time I get back to the barn. Horses that are coming for training arrive on the weekend so the barn is going to get busy. I think mine and Lucas' alone time in the arena during the weeknights is over!

Weather worries and even bigger worries

Ashley at The process of learning could use some special thoughts tonight. Her mare Ella (who came to be her horse in a heart wrenching way) just gave birth to a filly that is a bit too early. Shes on the way to the vets, hopefully there will be a good update soon.

In the weather worries its back to being -25 with windchill and after the 30 cm of snow we received on Saturday/Sunday I'm staying home for the night! Lucas and the other ponies got out for a run most of the day (the turnouts are sheltered from the wind by the barn and they all have blankets and free choice hay). And by now are in there warm stalls with warm buckets of water. Its days like this I'm happy that I don't have my horse at home trying to warm a barn all by himself! We managed the drive into the city today but there were several accidents and the highway to the city was briefly shut down due to a transport truck accident.

We started our own breeding season her on the weekend. Tanker got breed to the stud in the barn (the stud is by Radical Hour), and in two weeks we are expecting the first Appaloosa baby to be born at C and D's place. I'm really looking foreword to the Appaloosa baby, an almost grand-pony for me. I was working at the breeders farm when we bred this mares dam, and was present when the mare was bred to The Secret Pardon.

I also cant wait for my friends mare to foal, I and the "Aunts" (the owners of this mares dam, and her breeders) have a party planed for the 'grand-pony' and have already bought presents for her/him! This mare was one of the first that I started that went on to have excellent AQHA career and her breeders have been my very good friends since the moment that I've met them. (They are Lucas' adoptive aunts as well!) So fingers crossed that ever thing goes well.
