I've been following R Lil Bit Of Cash's progress with Lilly and going barefoot. Although I'm not a complete barefoot addict (trust me, around here the barefoot converts are NUTS, but I like the progress Lilly is making!) I do like the way Lucas' hind feet look after 4 months of being without shoes. I'm not so sure about going shoeless with his front feet, that right front foot is going to be the death of me.
He's a bit late on his shoeing/trim cycle and now were paying for it. So he's on a bit of a vacation until he's completely adjusted to having his feet shaped differently again.

My guy is barefoot and I would never put shoes on him. Don't get me wrong; I think there is a place for shoes. Why don't you try it without just a bit longer..... :-)
He does still have shoes on his front feet right now, and his hind feet have been without shoes for 4 months. His hind feet look fantastic, im just not sure what to do with his front feet. I'm going to talk to a different farrier in a week or two that might be moving to the area that knows Lucas...
Has Lucas been without front shoes before? Are there issues with his hooves now, or do you just want to try him barefoot? Lilly really needed to be barefoot so her hooves could "heal", but it's definitely a work in progress and takes a lot of dedication. She's had shoes on for over 8 years, so it's taking her a lot longer to transition than it would take a horse who has had shoes on and off...
