So I went and rode tonight, first time since the show. Ive been to the barn to brush him and clean his sheath (which he didn't like during but I think he felt better afterwords) but Ive got a serious lack of energy. So I tacked him up and lunged him for 5 min. then got on. We just did some walking and trotting, he was a bit of a dink, (which is typical) but nothing too bad. Ive got to try to keep riding him or else he'll be really stupid when I'm healthy again.
I get my IV again tomorrow, hopefully I'll feel better on Friday than I did last week. I'm just so tired of feeling crappy. I'm taking drugs so that I can sleep though the pain but then it messes with my mood and my reaction time (which makes it even harder for me to ride...) *sigh* but if I cant sleep, I cant work. And if I cant work then I cant keep Lucas.

I'm sorry you're feeling so crappy, but I'm glad you're still able to get out to the barn and spend time with Lucas. Hopefully he helps take your mind off it, at least for a little while.
Hope you're feeling better soon!
Heya,
I stumbled on your blog and I just wanted to know that I really enjoy reading it. On a shallow note I feel like we have a lot in common - RA and horses occupy about 90% of my brain function, with just enough left over for my husband, son and job upon occasion. My RA isn't nearly where yours is at yet - I had JRA that was in remission for over 15 years (and even before that it was mild) and it suddenly came swooping back this last spring. I ended up with an "accidental" pregnancy that has taken away about 90% of the swelling and pain which is pretty awesome, but I'm so scared it will come back once I give birth. I try not to think about it, because of that stupid cycle (stress=RA=pain/fatigue=stress=more RA), but it's tough.
Anyways, you've got a fan out here in California. I think it's awesome that you are showing even through the pain. I don't have any advice or anything that will make it easier (does ANYONE?) but I thought it might help to know that you're being admired.
PS: I haven't read all the way through your archives yet, but what's the growth on your thyroid? Hashimoto's? They put me through a LOT of hell in my teenage years when I developed Hashiomoto's until I finally saw a specialist who let me know that it is what it is - it's all part of the same immune system dysfunction, so I didn't need to worry about biopsies and surgery or crap like that. It just comes and goes with my regular RA flares. Anyways, I'm sure your doc knows more about that than I do.
PS: I think I love your doctor. I just read about her telling off your idiot anesthesiologist :)
